Cloud Solutions Architect

Job Responsibilities:

  • Translate business needs into data model and solution designs, and prepare specifications sufficient for engineering team to prepare technical specifications and delivery
  • Design and improve data models and underlying solutions that are future proof, reusable for data & analytics initiatives (including operational use cases and analytical use cases)
  • Design and maintain best practice on data architecture (including solution architecture, data modeling), with clear documentations
  • Develop an expert-level understanding of relevant data domain, cloud solutioning, banking and financial systems and strategies
  • Assist in team's data and architecture governance boards / activities to review solution and data models designs, build and review documentations and artefects, and review use case implementations to ensure delivery in alignment to solution design and best practices
  • Work with business line's technical design and control authorities to acquire approvals on solution and data designs
  • Explore greenfield technologies to enrich solutions on cloud platform
  • Assist to work breakdown for planning and provide L0/Lestimations for design / development effort

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Management or related discipline
  • Strong delivery experience
  • years solid experience on IT architecture, familiar with data engineering
  • Strong Banking, FinTech Domain knowledge
  • Strong knowledge on data architecture, including data modeling (conceptual / logical / physical data modeling), transactional database solutioning vs analytical database solutioning, ETLs, data-related non-functional requirement design (e.g. backup, archiving, performance etc)
  • Structured presentation and documentation skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to explain technical concepts to numerous business and technical stakeholders in English
  • Strong analytical skills to assess design effectiveness and limitations and assist design decisioning based on facts and business values
  • Self-motivated to take up new responsibilities, knowledge domain and skills beyond data architecture / data domain
  • Inspire teams to improve designs and practices on a continuous basis

Personality Fit:

  • Understanding in banking operations and FinTech domain knowledge
  • Project-based experience
  • Project experience in one or multiple public cloud such as (GCP / AWS / Azure / Ali Cloud)
  • Experience and knowledge of architecture framework or governance framework, such as TOGAF, IFW, etc.
  • Exposure to data process architecture design, such as Lamda
  • Exposure to unstructured data solution, e.g. NoSQL database, graphical database, in memory database etc.
  • Exposure to microservices design and solutions, e.g. API, Publish / Subscribe, Message Queues, Kubernetes-hosted solution etc.
  • Exposure on programming model / framework, e.g. Spark, Apache Beam, Spring Boot
  • Agile project with CI/CD experience
